"Ask me what will change the world. It’ll be Mountain Rock music, you and me, one heart at a time. God, it’s good to be alive. I feel so blessed. Thanks for listening and most of all sharing our Mountain Rock Love.”
Mark was born, on a Friday the 13th, in October, 1961. He started playing guitar when he was about ten years old and wrote his first song in fifth grade. In high school, he found himself recording his music professionally. At one point he even had two songs on the local radio, which Mark will tell you, “It was one of the best feelings.” That’s when chasing his dream began: The American Dream.
However, Mountain Rock hadn’t grown out of the side of a West Virginia mountain yet, but the seed had been planted. With years of nurturing and growing, Mountain Rock erupted like a volcano when his path crossed with Rick Wegman. A sound best described as southern fried rock with a pop vibe and a good heaping of blues, Mountain Rock was found with a lot of Blind Faith. This led them in naming their debut album “Black on Blue.”
After being on the back burner for years, music again regained control of his life. “I think it’s the reason I was put on this earth,” he says. “It feels as natural to me as the water I drink and the air I breathe.” For Mark, when life gets tough, songs pour out of the pain.
